Girls soccer team falls to arch rival ‘Dice, 2-1

Written by Sidony Ridge, The Eagle Staff Reporter

After getting two of their star players back, Obama was ready for a comeback against Allderdice. Dice started the first half off speeding to a goal two minutes in. The ball was shot back and forth between sides with a lot of help from an Eagle defender. There were many attempts to score a goal but too many off side plays. After four terrific foul shots from Angela Perfetti , Leeza Tokarski scored aten goal with ten minutes left until halftime.
Score tied, the second half had much more heat and a little too much aggression as both sides were giving it their all to win. Foul shots were many for Obama and Dice , and Angela made three farther foul kicks. Dice broke the tie with a goal twelve minutes left until the game ended. But Obama still fought until it was over.
After the game, Coach Woods gathered the teammates together and told them the faults that happened. Needless to say, he wasn’t overly happy after the game.
Q-Compared to the last Dice game, was there a better hustle?
Woods: No.
Q- Are there any strategies that need to be improved on to win the next game?
Woods: Running, they were lazy and need to hustle and get aggressive.
Q- Did having the star players back help?
A- Yes.
Even though Obama did lose this game, they are still in the running for the Championship but are currently in third place. The playoffs begin a couple weeks.
