Walter Robinson’s Gamer’s Corner…well….not quite
Written by Walter Robinson, The Eagle Senior Columnist
Editor’s note: Walter put down his controller and turned off his video games long enough to ponder the word hiatus, haters who go ballistic over the opinions of others, and TV shows that rake in big bucks by making toys of their characters.
Return from Hiatus
HELLO EAGLE, well I’m back from Christmas vacation and I think it’s time I crack open this old dusty laptop and work on columns. This time I plan to come harder, better, faster, and stronger, and since this is a return from hiatus you are probably wondering what hiatus actually means. Hiatus is a word which means vacation, but to get to the point, expect more and better as I shake off my dirt, shed off this old skin, get a fresh start, etc. You know what I mean so keep an eye out for more of my columns.
Some thoughts for the new year…
This is something I must address after a long and hard thought on why… when someone say something that another person or more doesn’t like— instantly becomes public enemy number one. A book, a movie, a cartoon, video game, it doesn’t matter, people nowadays pretty much live to make life an unrelenting hell hole where opinions are concerned.
The reason behind the ripping of others is something I want to know; is it human nature, to be popular, or does it just make people feel bigger and more important than how they really view themselves. Honestly, the term overreacting seems to describe the modern day method of getting one’s opinion out, and attacking others like a pack of wolves for the slightest reason is all the rage.
Of course, I might be adding fuel to the fire by saying that it is in style to verbally assault others even in light of one’s own short comings. The way I see it is we all have likes and dislikes but the way we deal with them in society is really just the spice of life. Given everything I’ve seen and dealt with, people should just know that no one will ever completely agree, so can’t we all just calm down for 2012

-Annoying Orange, the internet show that debuted a year or so ago, now has its own toy in stores and I have something to say: What the heck? It’s not like we already don’t have toys that are just stupid, but this is just out of the blue stupid on a whole different level.
I myself feel offended by the choices these toy producers and companies offer. And just because Disney does it doesn’t make it right (Marvel, you were consumed by Disney). Now enough about the toy, the web show was actually good with a few different ones I did not like. To finish this column, we all have different shows and internet series we like, but making it into a toy or other product shown on commercial seems to just take it a bit too far. Is everything about grabbing every dollar that you can?
Wait. You don’t have to answer that one.
