June HS Teacher Feature: Mrs.Opatt
Written by Chloe Mobley, The Eagle Staff Reporter
Ms. Opatt is finishing her third year as a public school teacher, teaching grades 9-12. During her time here at Obama she has had many fond memories and experiences.
Her favorite part of her job is working with the students, although she has also found it difficult to find time to work with everyone that needs her help.
When I asked her what she had learned from teaching she said, “I have learned to be fair and honest.”
When she isn’t teaching, Ms. Opatt enjoys going to her camp and riding her ATV. “I’ve been riding 4-wheelers since I was little,” said Ms. Opatt.
In addition to her work as a teacher, Ms. Opatt took charge of the yearbook this year. “I wanted to make sure they had it. It’s a big part of your high school career… to be able to reminice,” Ms. Opatt said.
As the first senior class of Obama graduates Ms. Opatt is proud of all the kids she worked with, and will be sad to see the seniors go.
“My advice to the students at Obama is just to find the perserverance to do the work that needs to be done, because it will pay off.”
