Caz’s Comments: Google…with neighbors like them…

Written by Lewis 'Caz' Tidrick, The Eagle Senior Columnist

You know what I don’t understand? We probably have the most un-advanced Technology curriculum in the history of ever…despite the fact that we have a huge Google headquarters right across the street!

I ask you, school administrators, why is Google giving us money to give to our students for coming to school every day, rather than giving us money to get new computers? Why don’t they have someone from Google come over and occasionally teach our technology class? I bet Google could easily hand over a few new laptops for Journalism, or have someone come over for maybe two days a week to teach something fun or interesting to the students. (Editor’s note: we asked Google for those very laptops last year..and got no response.)

Why is it that technology has to be the one with the boring curriculum? Technology could be the class that everyone is like “Oh my gosh, I can’t wait to go to Tech!” rather than “Oh wait, today we have Tech? Aw, man…”

I think that our school shouldn’t accept money that we promise to hand over to our students at the end of the year, when we could be accepting money to get a new technology curriculum with more current and advanced “technology” included in the curriculum.

Honestly, I’m tired of playing games all period during class. Why don’t we have video editing with Adobe Premiere, photo editing with PhotoShop, and maybe a teacher that doesn’t act like all of us are complete idiots and don’t know about computers at all?
