Obama girls’ basketball had a home game against Greenfield yesterday. Although they didn’t win the tip off, they dominated every other aspect.

After a few missed shots by both teams, Obama opened up the scoring with a lay-up. Shortly after that, they scored another lay-up, and another, and another, with a three here and there. The ball just stopped crossing the half court line for a good three minutes of the first period. The defense surrounded the player on Greenfield who had the ball and either forced a jump-ball or forced a turnover. The Obama girls’ dominated the rebounds and had multiple offensive rebounds, if needed. By the end of the half, it was 37-5.

The third period started off sloppy for the girls. They were turning it over and Greenfield screwed a few points in succession.  Even with that, Obama’s offense was still scoring.  The team turned it around at the start of the fourth quarter with their usual domination. The turnovers became rare and the team steamrolled ahead with a lot better field goal percentage, too. In the end, they won 59-12.
