Boys hoop team hoping for a solid season

Written by Cheyenne Hunter, The Eagle Staff Reporter

Basketball season is coming soon and I know everyone wants to know what’s in store for this year’s boys team. I had a chance to interview C oach Reid about this year’s team and found him upbeat.  The team lost their two top scorers from last year but still, the coach is looking for big things this year.

Cheyenne: What do you think of the line up for this season?

Mr. Reid: Well we have a high bar for our team, so we don’t have that many players up there yet, but over all I think it’s a pretty good line up.

Cheyenne: What do you hope for in this year’s team?

Mr. Reid: I hope our team gets through the season without any major injuries, has a good season, and hopefully finds things to grow on throughout the season.

Cheyenne: Who do you think is going to be the hardest team to beat?

Mr. Reid: Well in the city I think it would be Allderdice and Perry. But I don’t really know about the other teams that aren’t in the city.

Cheyenne: What are your goals for this season?

Mr. Reid: Go to city championships, win the season, improve our play every day, and have fun.

Cheyenne: What do you have in store for this year’s team?

Mr. Reid: The team will have more discipline and patience, they will be more aggressive, be smarter on their plays, and hopefully we’re not going to look like the average high school basketball team.

The boys open up their home season on Friday, December 16 at 4:00 against Oliver.
