After having had their hearts ripped out by Villanova’s Kris Jenkins with one of the most incredible shots in NCAA tournament history, UNC got to be on the winning side of that equation after Luke Maye hit about a 20-footer to sink Kentucky with .3 seconds remaining. While the team they have to play in the Final Four made it look easy against a championship favorite #1 seed Kansas with great defense and simple offense. The Cinderella of 2017, thus far, has been #7 seed South Carolina with wins against arguably the greatest tournament coach in history in Duke and coach K, and an embarrassment over #3 seed Baylor, but perhaps their greatest test comes in their first appearance in the Final Four round. Gonzaga has been the underdog for so many years now, but with convincing games against some lackluster teams they still don’t get the respect they truly deserve. Less than .0026% of 19 million people have picked the Final Four correctly, but now that the stage is set, all eyes have been shifted to Saturday evening’s games.
