On Friday, January 20, 2017 at 12:00 PM, our new President was sworn into office. I would like to start with a little backstory on our new President. President Trump was born on June 14, 1946, making him the oldest President so far. He has 5 children and is happily married. It should also be noted that his net worth is the highest of any President so far, coming in at a whopping 3.7 billion dollars.

President Trump has faced a great deal of criticism in the few days he has been in office, when he was campaigning, and again when he was elected. From multiple protests, to people rioting, and to the huge Woman’s March on Washington, it is obvious that a large percentage of Americans do not like or agree with President Trump, and most commonly, his views. The Inauguration went off without a hitch and police officers from all around the country helped with security and crowds. It seems that (from witnessing protests and taking statements) people perceive President Trump to be racist, sexist, and xenophobic. I assure you that is not the case. Even more people are truly scared that our country will go to hell. Again, that will not happen. Let’s give him a chance to Make America Great Again, and not waste our breath by protesting on his first day in office. To those of you saying “Not My President”, If you are a United States citizen, he is your President. It is understandable why people are scared, but in the end, it is simply another peaceful transition of power.
