After two excellent performances in front of the Pittsburgh fans to take a 2-0 series lead, the Stanley Cup Finals took to Nashville for game 3. The Penguins jumped to a 1-0 lead 46 seconds into the first period, but that was about all that went right for the Penguins in this game. The Predators players rattled in 3 goals before the intermission alone; the most impressive part of the game was Pekka Rinne’s 27 saves on 28 shots. It was his first victory against the Penguins in his career. Predator fans everywhere had a sigh of relief because a lot was riding on this game 3 because no team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in a series let alone the finals. So game 4 will be crucial for both teams because even though it will be tied in the series if the Predators take game 4, they’ll have all the momentum heading back to Pittsburgh, but if the Penguins win then it will still be an almost impossible feat for the Predators to win the other two road games in the rowdy Pittsburgh arena. It will be a very pleasurable thing to see for the general NHL fan to see either way.
