On November 3, 2017, at precisely 10:13 A.M., Rayshawn Deveauxbray entered the school library in his usual “finesse” sweatshirt. “Write an article about me,” he announced. So we did. The following is what ensued.
Sam Bisno/Isaac Degenholtz: What’s your favorite food?
Rayshawn Deveauxbray: Wings.
S.B./I.D.: Favorite sport?
S.B./I.D.: What do you like to do after school?
R.D.: I like to do sports. Yeah. I like to do sports. Sometimes I stay after school to do my homework.
S.B./I.D.: Who is your favorite teacher?
R.D.: Mr. Ehman for sure.
S.B./I.D.: What’s something you want to tell the students at Obama?
R.D.: Don’t let anybody tell you what you can’t do, because you can do whatever you set your mind to.
S.B./I.D.: Do you have a favorite memory?
R.D.: I was rapping and I killed the “0 to 100” instrumental.
S.B./I.D.: What will you miss the most about the school once you’re gone?
R.D.: I will miss everyone that was around me and anyone that inspired me to become successful.
S.B./I.D.: Would you recommended Obama to incoming students?
R.D.: Yes. I would recommend it because it is a good school. It gets you ready for college.
S.B./I.D.: Any plans for after Obama?
R.D.: I’m going to CCAC.
S.B./I.D.: Anything else you want to say?
R.D.: No, that’s about it.
There you have it. You now know all there is to know about Rayshawn Deveauxbray. We hope you’re feeling enlightened.
