Senior of the Week: John Horsley

Senior John Horsley

For this weeks Senior of the Week I interviewed  John Horsley.

Amila Niksic: What is your favorite memory of Obama?

John Horsley: My favorite memory was probably the Sister Act musical. There are memories you can only make in the theater department, so yeah that’s it.

AN: What will you miss the most?

JH: I’m going to miss the (musical) department. I am going to miss the relationships I formed with the underclassmen. I mean I will be coming back but it’s not going to be the same.

AN: Would you recommend Obama to incoming students?

JH: If you’re prepared and want to grind out for the next four years then yes, but if you just want to breeze through high school then no. Coming to Obama may have been the best decision for me because I will be prepared.

AN: What is one thing you would like to see changed about our school?

JH: I mean, there are a lot of things I’d like to see changed but if I had to choose one thing it would be how the arts are respected by everyone at the school, not just the students but the faculty and everyone.

AN: What is something you’d like to do in your free time?

JH: In my free time I like to just chill out, hang with my friends. I don’t do much outside of school, I don’t have time to.

AN: What is your favorite food?

JH: Chicken Alfredo

AN: What is something you’d like to accomplish in life?  (it can be anything)

JH: One thing I want to accomplish, I definitely want to make my parents proud.

AN: What are your plans for college?

JH: Right now I am planning on going to Lincoln on pretty much a full ride, and after four years at Lincoln, I want to attend the University of Pittsburgh for a graduate degree.

AN: What do you want to major in?

JH: Health sciences, because I want to be an athletic trainer.

AN: Who is your favorite teacher?

JH: It would have to be either Ms. McKrell or at this point, Mr. Denlinger.

AN: Any shoutouts or last words?

JH: Shoutout to the Obama Drama Department, shoutout to Aracena Chambers, I hope everything’s all and good with your family.
