Senior Aracena Chambers

Amila Niksic, Writer

Please welcome, as this week’s Senior of the Week,  Aracena Chambers! Aracena has been an avid member of musical for the last four years. With her effervescent and happy demeanor, it was nice to get to know Aracena during her last year at Obama.  Learn a little more about Aracena below.

What is your favorite memory of Obama?

My health project for Ms. Stovash, we basically did a field day.

What will you miss the most?

That’s hard, I would have to say musical, and my entire class of 2018.

Would you recommend Obama to incoming students?

If you’re willing to do the work and if you’re willing to struggle, yes. If you’re not Obama is not for you.

What is one thing you would like to see changed about our school?

There’s room for improvement everywhere. Just the way things are carried out in a sense, certain rules and curriculums that should be carried out in different ways.

What is something you’d like to do in your free time?

Sleep. Can’t get enough of that here at Obama.

What’s your favorite store?

Walmart, they have literally everything, you can’t go wrong.

What is your favorite food?

Any kind of alfredo, and I just had some for lunch which is the crazy thing.

What is something you’d like to accomplish in life?  (it can be anything)

To be able to say I did exactly what I wanted to do in 5th grade, and that was to be the best math teacher ever.

What are your plans for college?

What is college? (LOL), I’m stuck between Duquesne, Geneva, and Westchester…wherever the money is coming from.

What do you want to major in?

Secondary education and mathematics.

Who is your favorite teacher?

Hands down Ms. McKrell, and honestly, Mr. Naveh…and a special shoutout to Casili, though I hate him so much, I will never forget him.

Any shoutouts or last words?

I’m gonna miss it but I can’t wait to get out of here.
