When you’re in high school you can’t wait to be a senior. I asked a few seniors to share their stories and how they made it through high school with hard work and dedication.

Gabrielle Reed: What’s your senior year been like so far?

Cameron Brown: Stressful in the beginning and in the end it was hard because of all the homework, but other than that it was fun.

G.R: Was your journey hard to get here?

C.B: It wasn’t. It went fast and it was easygoing. My senior year was hard, though.

G.R: Is there anything you would do differently?

C.B: If I could take back anything, I would take my ninth grade year more seriously.

Gabrielle Reed: What’s your senior year been like so far?

Damon Macklin: It was fun. The run through was tough because of all of the colleges and stuff.

G.R: Was your journey hard to get here?

D.M: I worked really hard and did my best so it wasn’t really hard for me.

G.R: Is there anything you would do differently?

D.M: One thing is that I wish I had done was to get to know some of the other people more.

Now you may think this is what every senior would say, but our next senior had a different perspective on her time here at Obama.

Gabrielle Reed: What’s your senior year been like so far?

Laniaya Jenkins: It was fun but hectic trying to balance school and work, and picking colleges has been hard.

G.R: Was your journey hard to get here?

L.J: Yeah, only because I tore my ACL. With that, I took a mental and physical setback and on top of that I had “senioritis.”

G.R: Is there anything you would do differently?

L.J: I would have to say I wouldn’t have procrastinated.

There you have it: three different stories from Obama seniors about how they got through all the homework, setbacks, and senioritis. It might be the same for you or it might be different, but whatever you do, have fun while doing it.
