Maya Lapp has been reporting for The Eagle since sophomore year. She enjoys writing all types of articles, from local to international news, from book reviews to sports stories. In the spring of 2015 she visited Bolivia for two months and did a weekly column relating her experiences abroad. While there she volunteered in Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos, a children's home, and upon her return she reached out to her readers, fundraising to stock NPH's library. Although she sometimes reports student news, Maya is particularly interested in controversial stories. At times her articles are purely information-based, while at other times she writes opinionated editorials. She enjoys the opportunity to expose the student body and larger community to the news and will continue reporting in her senior year.
